Choir Auditions
For Returning Marina Choir Students
Auditions Requirements:
1) Perform the classical Italian aria selection that was taught to your choir class this year. You may also sing an Italian aria that was taught during a previous year in choir. You should be prepared to sing the entire piece. An accompanist will be provided. You may also perform to an accompaniment track, without voices, on an Ipod or CD.
2) Be prepared to sing a cappella on Solfege (do, re, mi) or on a neutral syllable (doo, da): a major scale, major arpeggio, minor scale, minor arpeggio and the chromatic scale.
3) Sight Singing – rhythm and pitch
4) Tonal Memory – Be prepared to sing/repeat a sequence of 4-5 pitches played on the piano (on a neutral syllable: doo, da) to test musicianship and aural skills.
For Incoming Students – New to the choirs at Marina
